As guests of Hawk’s Nest Retreat you will have access to Rumbling Bald: private beach and lakefront swimming, two championship 18-hole golf courses, driving ranges, restaurants/lounges, outdoor pool, indoor pool, whirlpool, steam and dry saunas, fitness center, spa with massage therapist, hair and manicure salon, 18-hole miniature golf course, lighted tennis courts, pickle-ball, basketball court, sand volleyball, scenic boat cruises, boat rentals and much more. Enjoy boating, fishing and swimming in warm weather and hiking the year-round. Guest passes included for complementary use of pools and fitness center. HAWK’S NEST RETREAT Layout:

MAIN LEVEL: Easy access from parking area and one level living. Great Room opens onto West facing deck where you can relax and watch spectacular sunsets. Great Room has flat screen TV (Dish Network, Apple TV to log into your own apps), electric fireplace with heat and flame settings, plenty of seating. The view of Lake Lure and surrounding mountains is expansive, allowing you to see as far as Chimney Rock State Park. Fully equipped Kitchen features granite counter-tops, new Stainless-Steel appliances. Kitchen Dining Area has high-top table and 4 chairs, plus seating for 3 at Kitchen breakfast bar. Separate Dining Room with table/seating for 6. Split bedroom floor plan: Master Suite to right of the Kitchen. 2 Guest Bedrooms to left of the Great Room. Master Suite – King bed, private Bath. Master Bath has huge walk-in shower and double bowl vanity. Guest Bedroom 1 - Queen bed. Guest Bedroom 2 – two Twin Beds. Hall Bath with combination tub/shower is shared by Guest Bedrooms 1 & 2. Office/Sitting Room has Full size Sleeper Futon.

UPPER LEVEL LOFT: Game Room/Sleeping and TV/sitting area with Wii game, Full size Sleeper Futon. Foosball Game. Great for Kids, or anyone who just wants some separate space.

DECK AND SUN ROOM. The Sun room is accessed from the Deck as well as the Master Bedroom. Deck is spacious, and has gas grill (propane provided).

PLEASE NOTE: Although you will have access to amenities at Rumbling Bald, there will be additional cost for some amenities such (golf, boat rentals court time for tennis/pickle ball, mini golf, special events. Contact Rumbling Bald directly for more information.

VRBO charges $59.00 for CSA insurance, but it covers only up to $1,500. We give you the choice per our rental agreement to EITHER purchase CSA Damage Protection Insurance from us for $45.00 (Covers Damages up to $3,000) OR pay a REFUNDABLE Damage Security Deposit of $750.00. With your approval we will add it to your reservation once we confirm your stay.

  The view of the lake is a big selling point and the layout was great for a couple traveling with teen kids. Nice to have the game room. You have to drive to ANYTHING, including 25 minutes to a grocery store. The resort was less than expected but that was partly due to Covid19 closures.
