Buffalo Shoals Lookout is a spectacular mountain home perched high above Lake Lure, surrounded by mountain and long range views of the lake. Wonderful outdoor spaces include a large stone fire pit area, covered patio with hot tub, and 2 deck areas. The main level open floor plan Great Room/Kitchen/Dining, and lower-level Home Theater Room and Game Room, make this home ideal for family vacations, group gatherings, trainings, retreats, or weekend getaways any time of year. Buffalo Shoals Lookout is professionally managed, cleaned, and provides professional linen service.

MAIN LEVEL: Easy access from the parking area into a spacious Entry Foyer. NOTE: the driveway up to parking area is steep and can be slippery when wet or icy. Open floor plan Great Room, Dining Area and Kitchen. Two Bedrooms with queen beds and a Full Bath are just off the Foyer. Great Room has HD Smart TV, gas fireplace and comfy seating. Dining table seats 10, plus 5 seats at breakfast bar. Great Room opens to the deck with outdoor heater, Big Green Egg grill, a separate gas grill, and outdoor seating. The Kitchen is a home-cook’s dream: large island, tons of countertop space, 2 sinks, large refrigerator and freezer, wine refrigerator, and pro-quality cooking appliances. Kitchen is well stocked and perfect for entertaining and cooking for large groups. Laundry Room and Pantry are adjacent to the Kitchen.

LOWER LEVEL: Home Theater Room with projection TV, surround-sound system, large video library, and 6 reclining theater seats. Game Room has pool table, poker game table, board games, HD Smart TV, and bar area. Large Bedroom has 1 set of twin bunk beds and 1 set of full bunk beds, 1 Queen blow-up bed, HD Smart TV, Kitchenette, and Full Bath with shower. Lower level opens to covered patio with hot tub, outdoor lounge seating, outdoor heater, and level grassy area for playing games. Cornhole game is available.

UPPER LEVEL: The entire upper level is the Master Suite with king bed, Master Bath and private Deck. Master Bath has 2 Sinks, whirlpool tub and walk-in shower.

Buffalo Shoals Lookout is:

Within 20-30 minute drive to Chimney Rock State Park and village shops, restaurants, breweries, wineries, Lake Lure public Beach & Water Park, Tryon Equestrian Center.

Within 10-15 minute drive to Ingles grocery, restaurants, hiking trails, zip-lining, horseback riding.

Minutes from two championship golf courses (seasonal) at Rumbling Bald - Public can only golf (advance reservations required via RB) and visit the restaurants-NO USE OF OTHER RB AMENITIES PERMITTED.

Within 1-hour drive to Asheville: world famous Biltmore Estates, award winning restaurants, craft breweries, art galleries, music venues. Saluda: white-water rafting, zip-lining, waterfall hiking. Hendersonville: wineries, restaurants, craft breweries, shopping.

There were many spaces to gather, and we all loved the main floor deck for hanging out. With one family member wheelchair bound, we so appreciated his ease of access to the main floor and house entry and exit. Our "girl's movie night" was the best.   The pictures do not do this house justice because with the natural light it was even more beautiful than you can see in the pictures. The view of the lake and mountains was amazing. Our 20's aged children used the hot tub , theatre room and pool table every night. It has a lot of great spaces to be together and plenty of space to be alone. We were a party of 6 adults but there was plenty of room for two families to stay together. The kitchen had more than enough supplies for us to make dinner every night and we really enjoyed using the "egg" grill. We had great communication from the owner about all the details of our stay. We enjoyed going tubing, white water rafting and chimney rock. We would definitely stay there again for another week next summer.

  Each year 3 couples get together for a week someplace in the North Carolina mountains. This year we decided to be a bit lower but have a lake view. Buffalo Shoals fit the bill. Great house with a nice view from the decks out back of beautiful Lake Lure. Plenty of room in this house for our group. Spacious bedrooms,a fantastic game room, a home theater and a great kitchen for our amazing cooks! We did enjoy a couple restaurants for lunch located on Lake Lure.

  My family had a wonderful stay in May at Buffalo Shoals Lookout. They had everything you could want and more... movie room, game room, hot tub, fire pit! And plenty of space for many guests. Large kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Lovely view of the lake and mountains from the deck. Close enough to a large grocery store and several restaurants to keep you well fed. Lots of lake activities, and hiking trails. I was even able to bring my mountain bike and try the steep trails at Buffalo Creek Park nearby. Asheville is about an hour away with lots of options for things to do as well.

  What an amazing stay I had, it was the perfect break I needed! The view of the lake was terrific and the house itself was stunning. If it wasn’t so beautiful outside at the fire pit I would have been in the game room or movie theater all week! The house was very well decorated and it fit exactly what I was looking for.   This house is beautiful inside and out. Every detail is impeccable, from the matching kitchen appliances to the decorations throughout, the house had absolutely everything we could need.
  
  We spent nights in the basement having pool, poker, and dart tournaments. Most nights also ended up with us in the hot tub, enjoying the stars and peacefulness of the mountains. It was huge and the jet settings were strong and adjustable. Highly recommend!
  
  One day we drove 25 minutes to Chimney Rock State Park and took the stairs to the top. We liked lunch at Burnt Shirt winery afterward. Try the mead.
  
  We're already dreaming about our next trip to Lake Lure and can't wait to stay at the house again!
