Lake Lure continues to recover from Helene! Buffalo Shoals Lookout is again welcoming guests. Thanks to ongoing efforts, roads, power, water, and WiFi, are restored. Although the Chimney Rock area, Lake Lure beaches and waterfront are currently closed, there is much that our area has to offer. Enjoy this home as a retreat & “home base” for visiting nearby towns and attractions. Area restaurants, including Lake Lure & Asheville are reopening. Biltmore Estate has reopened. There's public golf at Rumbling Bald, area wineries, breweries, music, hiking trails, waterfalls, all within an hour's drive of Lake Lure. Tryon Equestrian Center pavilion is hosting some of the Chimney Rock businesses that suffered from the storm. Saluda, Hendersonville, Forest City, Ashville, and larger cities like Greenville, SC are great day-trip destinations. By choosing to visit, you’re supporting the local businesses of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Western NC.

Buffalo Shoals Lookout is high above Lake Lure, surrounded by mountain and long range views of the lake. Outdoor spaces include a large stone fire pit area, covered patio w/hot tub, and 2 deck areas. The main level open floor plan Great Room/Kitchen/Dining, and lower-level Home Theater Room and Game Room. Ideal for family & group gatherings, trainings, retreats, or weekend getaways.

MAIN LEVEL: Easy access from the parking area into a spacious Entry Foyer. NOTE: the driveway up to parking area is steep & can be slippery when wet/icy. Open floor plan Great Room, Dining Area and Kitchen. Two Bedrooms with queen beds and a Full Bath are just off the Foyer. Great Room has HD Smart TV, gas fireplace and comfy seating. Dining table seats 10, plus 5 seats at breakfast bar. Great Room opens to the deck with outdoor heater, Green Egg grill, a separate gas grill, outdoor seating. The Kitchen has large island, tons of countertop space, 2 sinks, large refrigerator/freezer, wine refrig and pro-quality cooking appliances. Kitchen is well stocked for entertaining & cooking for large groups. Laundry Room and Pantry are adjacent to the Kitchen.

LOWER LEVEL: Home Theater Room w/projection TV, surround-sound system, video library, and 6 reclining theater seats. Game Room has pool table, poker game table, board games, HD Smart TV, and bar area. Large Bedroom has 1 set of twin bunk beds and 1 set of full bunk beds, 1 Queen blow-up bed, HD Smart TV, Kitchenette, and Full Bath with shower. LL opens to covered patio with hot tub, outdoor lounge seating, & grassy area. Cornhole game is available.

UPPER LEVEL: The entire upper level is the Master Suite with king bed, Master Bath and private Deck. Master Bath has 2 Sinks, and walk-in shower.

Within 10-15 minute drive to Ingles grocery, restaurants, hiking trails, zip-lining.

Minutes from 2 championship golf courses (golf & restaurants open to public) at Rumbling Bald - NO USE OF OTHER RB AMENITIES PERMITTED.

  Buffalo Shoals Outlook is a beautiful, spacious house with views of Lake Lure and blue ridge mountains. We loved the movie theatre room and used the hot tub daily. The kitchen was very well equipped and a dream to cook in. Beds were comfortable and the house was spotless. Communication with the management agency was seller.
  
  Sadly, our trip was interrupted by Hurricane Helene and the terrible damage in Western North Carolina. We so enjoyed our visit to the area and hope recovery proceeds quickly for the good people who live in the area.

  This property served us very well, start to finish! Spotless, well-appointed and well-equipped, comfortable, with a convenient north-end location. The property managers were extremely kind, knowledgeable of both the area and home, and provided the correct balance of support without being over-bearing.
  
  The views, the movie theatre and game room, hot tub, and BGE kept us entertained while not on the run. The unusual heatwave kept us from enjoying the firepit. We played golf at both Apple Valley & Bald Mountain, toured the Biltmore & hiked Chimney Rock, rented a pontoon on the Lake. We enjoyed dining at the Lake House, La Strada, Victory (3x), Legends, and Black Mtn Bistro.
  
  We found the location very convenient (5-min ea) to Rumbling Bald, Apple Valley, Victory Kitchen; 15-min to south-end restaurants and Ingles grocery (btw best vacay grocery ever!); 25-min to Lake Lure Marina/Chimney Rock.
  
  When we return to Lake Lure, this will be the first home we check availability to stay! Thanks for hosting us and helping make our vacay outstanding!

  Beautiful and spotless private residence with many activities to keep a family busy. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was stocked with everything, including spices. Kids loved the bunk room. Eleven of us had ample space. Super safe and secure. Easy check in check out.
  
  Wildlife was incredible by the firepit. We had a mama bear and 3 cubs visit the first evening! Deer and hummingbirds were abundant!
  
  A perfect home base to explore all the sites and attractions in the Lake Lure area.
  
  Recommend:
  Corn hole tournaments, s’mores by the firepit, movies in the theater, pool and poker games, coffee in the rocking chairs, cocktails on the balconies, climbing Chimney Rock, white water rafting in the French Broad, Hickory Nut Falls

  The pictures do not do this house justice because with the natural light it was even more beautiful than you can see in the pictures. The view of the lake and mountains was amazing. Our 20's aged children used the hot tub , theatre room and pool table every night. It has a lot of great spaces to be together and plenty of space to be alone. We were a party of 6 adults but there was plenty of room for two families to stay together. The kitchen had more than enough supplies for us to make dinner every night and we really enjoyed using the "egg" grill. We had great communication from the owner about all the details of our stay. We enjoyed going tubing, white water rafting and chimney rock. We would definitely stay there again for another week next summer.

  Each year 3 couples get together for a week someplace in the North Carolina mountains. This year we decided to be a bit lower but have a lake view. Buffalo Shoals fit the bill. Great house with a nice view from the decks out back of beautiful Lake Lure. Plenty of room in this house for our group. Spacious bedrooms,a fantastic game room, a home theater and a great kitchen for our amazing cooks! We did enjoy a couple restaurants for lunch located on Lake Lure.

  My family had a wonderful stay in May at Buffalo Shoals Lookout. They had everything you could want and more... movie room, game room, hot tub, fire pit! And plenty of space for many guests. Large kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Lovely view of the lake and mountains from the deck. Close enough to a large grocery store and several restaurants to keep you well fed. Lots of lake activities, and hiking trails. I was even able to bring my mountain bike and try the steep trails at Buffalo Creek Park nearby. Asheville is about an hour away with lots of options for things to do as well.

The home was very clean, well organized and equipped with everything I needed.   This house is beautiful inside and out. Every detail is impeccable, from the matching kitchen appliances to the decorations throughout, the house had absolutely everything we could need.
  
  We spent nights in the basement having pool, poker, and dart tournaments. Most nights also ended up with us in the hot tub, enjoying the stars and peacefulness of the mountains. It was huge and the jet settings were strong and adjustable. Highly recommend!
  
  One day we drove 25 minutes to Chimney Rock State Park and took the stairs to the top. We liked lunch at Burnt Shirt winery afterward. Try the mead.
  
  We're already dreaming about our next trip to Lake Lure and can't wait to stay at the house again!
