MALLARD COVE LAYOUT:

MAIN LEVEL: Easy, no-stairs front entrance from the covered drive into Foyer. Open floor plan Kitchen with large island, 2 sinks, 2 ovens, kitchen dining table seats 6, conversation area, gas fireplace, TV. Adjacent to the Kitchen is a separate formal Dining Room with beautiful custom table, seating for 8, stone walls & wood Post and Beam structure. Beyond the Dining Room is a Family Room with cathedral ceiling, stone wood-burning fireplace, HD Smart TV (fireplace use Oct. 1-May 1). Half Bath just off the Entry Foyer. Screened Porch with additional dining/ gas grill (propane provided).

UPPER LEVEL: 1300sf Master Bedroom Suite with King Bed, large custom Dressing/Closet area, Bonus Room with desk area, Queen sleeper-sofa. Master Bath is spacious, 2 vanity sink areas, huge walk-in shower, jetted tub.

LOWER LEVEL: FR with combo Pool Table/Ping-Pong Table, HD TV, Queen sleeper-sofa. Kitchenette/Bar area. Three Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with two Twin Beds & Bedroom 2 with Queen Bed are separated by Jack-N-Jill Bath with double sinks, combo tub/shower. Guest Bedroom 3 with Queen Bed, Full Bath with one sink, combination tub/shower. This bath has a door from the hallway to serve Family/Game Room. Family/Game Room opens onto stone walkway to the Boathouse stairs, in-ground hot tub.
LAKEFRONT: Double Boathouse has a spacious Rooftop Deck, lots of outdoor seating. A long Pier extends from the Boathouse around right side of the Cove. 9 passenger Pontoon boat is docked outside the boathouse, 2 kayaks/2 stand-up paddle boards are on rack along the pier. Outdoor patio/fire pit area is close to lakefront.
MALLARD COVE IS:
A few minutes to Ingles grocery, restaurants, hiking trails, zip-lining.
Near Chimney Rock State Park, village shops, restaurants, breweries, wineries; Lake Lure Public Beach/Water Park/Marina; Tryon Equestrian Center.
Close to 2 golf courses (seasonal) at Rumbling Bald. Public can golf (reservations required via RB) & use restaurants-no other use of RB amenities permitted.
PLEASE NOTE:
1) The TOLL requires all operators of pontoon to complete a TOLL Boaters Safety Course and get a Lake Lure Boaters License. https://www.townoflakelure.com/parksreclak/page/lake-lure-boater-safety-course-and-test. Required prior to arrival.
2) The 12' Lake drawdown, for infrastructure projects, will begin on Jan 1, 2024 ending March 31, 2024. Lake refill starts 3/31/24,. Lake refill is based on weather & rainfall usually by mid-late April.

Our Lake Lure Christmas vacation was amazing! The home had a wonderful view, and room to spread out! My only complaint was not enough bedrooms for a family of 10. Great location, and close to grocery stores and restaurants.

We were part of four couples that rented a house in Mallard Cove on Lake Lure for a week. House was amazing with great features and lots of room. Also had a huge area for parking. The location can't be beat. We made use of the kayaks, paddle boards, and pontoon boat. Enjoyed every day. Buffalo Junctions was very easy to work with and help make sure our vacation went off without a hitch.

This house was amazing! Very clean and the location was great! It was very close to Ingles...which made it very convenient. I was there with a group of ladies and we had the best time. The house had everything we needed and more. The boat deck and large porch area seemed to be where we spent most of our time. The beautiful outside stone fireplace was very nice. The agents, Steve and Sue Gage, were super nice and very helpful. They were always available to answer any questions we had. I would most definitely rent again. Trust me when I say...you won't be disappointed in renting this one.

Mallard Cove was a wonderful home!! The view,the covered porch,and lake front area was fantastic! The kitchen was well stocked with pots,pans dishes etc. . The bathrooms were stocked with lots of towels. The home was very comfortable and extremely clean. We really enjoyed having the boat . What a great amenity!! Even though we went the weekend of Hurricane Ian, we generally escaped the wind and rain that came with that and had a good time.

The house was clean, very well equipped and we enjoyed the use of the hot tub and pool table.

It is close to the supermarket, several restaurants and all the Lake Lure attractions.

Back to Hurricane Ian. The town lowered the lake 3 feet in anticipation of a lot of rain that didn't come. As a result, we couldn't use the pontoon boat which was a big disappointment. However, the agents gave us a rebate which they didn't have to do, which was good karma for them.

We will be back.

This place was perfect! The location is ideal; private and secluded. Having access to the kayaks, sup and pontoon boat was spectacular! The home was very clean, kitchen well stocked with pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils, etc.... Make sure you bring your groceries so you can cook all your meals. This property had EVERYTHING we could have possibly wanted. We had a hard time leaving to even go exploring the beautiful surroundings. The kitchen is so well stocked with anything dish, cookware, and appliance you could think of! The house was so spacious that you could be by yourself or with the group and feel so comfortable. The teenagers want to go back next year!!! (So do the adults) the property managers were so friendly and helpful. We got email updates leading up to our stay that evening included recommendations of things to do in the area!

Private Cove on Lake Lure was an amazing place to stay! The home was built with a lot of detail and comfort. We have two grown children and their spouses and one grandchild and we all had plenty of space. The hot tub, the pontoon boat, the paddle boards, the KITCHEN! All of it made for a wonderful family getaway. Friendly note: If anyone stays in the master suite and do not like the morning light, bring an eyemask. All other rooms have blinds.

Welcome to Mallard Cove - A gorgeous Lake Lure estate on it's own private cove!

The home looks out over the cove, across the lake, and to the mountains beyond. Surrounded by beautiful woods, Mallard Cove is a peaceful, private sanctuary.

Beautiful outdoor spaces include a brand new stone patio and fireplace.

Use of the 9-passenger Pontoon Boat is available for guest use April 1 thru Oct 31

A long dock runs along the landscaped slope up to the patio/fireplace. This is a view from the dock where the Pontoon Boat is parked, back toward the boathouse

Rental of Mallard Cove includes use of the owner's Pontoon Boat, 2 Kayaks and 2 Stand-Up Paddle Boards for the duration of your stay.

Covered front entry driveway has easy no-stairs access to the main level of the home.

The Entry Foyer opens to Kitchen, Dining and Conversation Areas. There is also a Half Bath off the Entry Foyer to serve the Main Level.

Well-stocked Kitchen includes gas cook top, 2 sinks, beautiful custom cabinets and lots of work-surface... perfect cooking space for larger groups and holidays.

Craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident everywhere. From the antique door repurposed into a dining table, to the custom-made "twig" shutters

The open Kitchen/Dining/Conversation area flows into a formal Dining Room flanked by two stone fireplaces.

Dining room table seats up to 8.

Spring and Fall are particularly beautiful in Lake Lure.
