To right of Foyer is an open floor plan Kitchen with large island, 2 sinks, table with 6 seats, conversation area, fireplace. Next to Kitchen area is Dining Room w beautiful custom wood table, seating for 8. Beyond Dining Room is Family Room w cathedral ceiling, fireplace, and smart TV (fireplace use Oct thru April). Half Bath just off Entry Foyer. To left of Foyer is screened Porch w table, Weber gas grill.
UPPER LEVEL: 1300sf Master Bedroom Suite w King Bed, Dressing/Closet areas, Bonus Room w desk area, Queen sleeper-sofa. Large Master Bath w 2 vanity sink areas, walk-in shower, and jetted tub.
LOWER LEVEL: Family Room w combination Pool Table/Ping-Pong, HD TV, Queen sleeper-sofa. Bar area just off Family Room. Three Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 w 2 Twin Beds, Bedroom 2 w Queen Bed are separated by Jack-N-Jill Bath w 2 sinks, tub/shower. Guest Bedroom 3 w Queen Bed, Full Bath w sink and tub/shower. This bath also serves Game Room. Game Room opens onto in-ground hot tub area.
LAKEFRONT: Double Boathouse has spacious Rooftop Deck, w lots of outdoor seating. A long Pier extends from Boathouse around the right side of the Cove. Kayaks/stand-up paddle boards are on a rack along the pier. Outdoor fire pit area is close to the lakefront along the right side of the pier.

This is our second stay at Mallard Cove. The house is spacious enough for our group of 4 couples. We enjoy the lake and surrounding areas to visit. The very large deck above the boat house is a great gathering place. We also enjoy the use of the paddle boards that are provided. Would highly recommend.

The house is very spacious and has everything you need. Super private with excellent lake access (your own cove so the kids can swim and use the SUPs/Kayaks without fear of boats!). This is the fourth different house we've stayed in at the lake and it is our favorite. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at Mallard Cove! We brought the entire family which included our 5 grandchildren. This house is located in a cove with no other houses which was perfect for our grandchildren. Easy entry into the water a private setting where we spent much of our time. Having the boat was a plus also. The house was clean and had plenty of space. We enjoyed the covered porch that overlooked the lake. Sue and Steve at Buffalo Junction were great! They responded immediately if we had any questions. We will be renting here again!

  So glad all had a fun time at Mallard Cove. This wonderful estate lake home does provide lots of room for larger gatherings and multi generational families. Unfortunately, the pontoon will no longer be offered in 2025, however, much to offer and still in great proximity to many area attractions. This home did not disappoint. We wanted for nothing and that included both the kids and adults in our group. We especially found the stand up paddle boards, kayaks and boats a memorable addition and resulted in us not leaving the house, by car, once during our 4 night stay!! We left Lake Lure and this home feeling like we found a new special place to come back to again and again! We just hope that Mallard Cove is available the next time we come back!

The house is beautiful. The boat was a perfect addition to this trip. We are boat people so we used it bunches. We was able to get a taxi's to Asheville to do a brewery trip along with eating at Lobster Trap oh it’s a must place to hit. chimney Rock is a lovely little hidden germ. Lots of cool little places. The brewery this is a great stop.t The only downside was the very short notice that the natural hot tub pool was broken. That was the only thing I can say. They made it right by doing a small refund. We definitely missed it after our hike we took. We will continue to come back to this area.

We strive to provide the best experience and the in-ground hot tub pool was expected to be operational, however, unfortunately, the pool service found the problem to be more extensive than expected parts not immediately available. We proactively contacted you when informed, with the owners’ sincere apologies, offering a refund in advance of you asking for one, pro-rating based on the total cost/length of stay, then processing it promptly. There are circumstances that are sometimes beyond anyone's control, and this happened to be such a time. We did our best to make it right and that the other amenities, such as the pontoon for one, included with this home were enjoyed by all. The repairs are now completed and available for guest use.

This house was amazing! Very clean and the location was great! It was very close to Ingles...which made it very convenient. I was there with a group of ladies and we had the best time. The house had everything we needed and more. The boat deck and large porch area seemed to be where we spent most of our time. The beautiful outside stone fireplace was very nice. The agents, Steve and Sue Gage, were super nice and very helpful. They were always available to answer any questions we had. I would most definitely rent again. Trust me when I say...you won't be disappointed in renting this one.

Even though we went the weekend of Hurricane Ian, we generally escaped the wind and rain that came with that and had a good time.

The house was clean, very well equipped and we enjoyed the use of the hot tub and pool table.

It is close to the supermarket, several restaurants and all the Lake Lure attractions.

Back to Hurricane Ian. The town lowered the lake 3 feet in anticipation of a lot of rain that didn't come. As a result, we couldn't use the pontoon boat which was a big disappointment. However, the agents gave us a rebate which they didn't have to do, which was good karma for them.

We will be back.

This property had EVERYTHING we could have possibly wanted. We had a hard time leaving to even go exploring the beautiful surroundings. The kitchen is so well stocked with anything dish, cookware, and appliance you could think of! The house was so spacious that you could be by yourself or with the group and feel so comfortable. The teenagers want to go back next year!!! (So do the adults) the property managers were so friendly and helpful. We got email updates leading up to our stay that evening included recommendations of things to do in the area!

Private Cove on Lake Lure was an amazing place to stay! The home was built with a lot of detail and comfort. We have two grown children and their spouses and one grandchild and we all had plenty of space. The hot tub, the pontoon boat, the paddle boards, the KITCHEN! All of it made for a wonderful family getaway. Friendly note: If anyone stays in the master suite and do not like the morning light, bring an eyemask. All other rooms have blinds.

Rental of Mallard Cove includes use of 2 Kayaks and 2 Stand-Up Paddle Boards for the duration of your stay.

Covered front entry driveway has easy no-stairs access to the main level of the home.

The Entry Foyer opens to Kitchen, Dining and Conversation Areas. There is also a Half Bath off the Entry Foyer to serve the Main Level.

Well-stocked Kitchen includes gas cook top, 2 sinks, beautiful custom cabinets and lots of work-surface... perfect cooking space for larger groups and holidays.

Craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident everywhere. From the antique door repurposed into a dining table, to the custom-made "twig" shutters

The open Kitchen/Dining/Conversation area flows into a formal Dining Room flanked by two stone fireplaces.
