- NOTE: Your safety matters. This property features 4 exterior security cameras, located above the upper deck, lower deck, front entrance and parking area, all facing outward. They do not look into interior spaces
- NOTE: This home requires over 100 steps to access and may be difficult for guests with limited mobility The electric tram from the parking area to the cottage is for luggage, coolers and groceries, Human passengers are not allowed!
NOTE: The plan for the next Lake Drawdown is 1/1/24 - 3/31/24.
The Lake will be drawn down by 12 feet. The purpose of the Lake drawdown is to allow for the completion of priority infrastructure projects including the sewer system replacement project including the Gravity Lift System (GLS) in the North end of Sunset Cove, dredging, seawall and boathouse construction/maintenance, dam and hydroelectric plant maintenance, and sewer cleaning and maintenance.
While the Lake will begin rising on March 31st, 2024, the rate of refilling the Lake is based on the weather and the amount of rainfall received.
• High Season- June thru Mid-August- 4 NIGHT MINIMUM.

It is our policy to require Damage Protection. Your stay at Tucked Away Gem includes Damage Protection that covers up to $3,000 in damage. See complete terms and conditions in our rental agreement. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PURCHASE DAMAGE PROTECTION INSURANCE AT CHECK OUT THROUGH VRBO OR OTHER PROVIDER.
All reservations, including VRBO/Airbnb are REQUIRED to sign a RENTAL AGREEMENT. The Rental Agreement is sent in a separate email for electronic signature. For VRBO guests, we will not process your credit card for the deposit until after you sign the rental agreement.

    Clean! Spacious! Beautiful! Convenient to Chimney Rock State Park and other trails, restaurants like Burnt Shirt and more. Has every comfort you need. The description is very accurate. We loved our Tuked Away Gem experience. We visited in the off season, early spring break. The lake was low but it was still a beautiful view. So nice and calm, quiet and relaxing. Loved having the convenience of 4 bathrooms. Yes, it has a lot of stairs but we loved it because the view of the big trees and flowers blooming were all around. The sun deck is nice and clean and has a lot of room with screened in areas as well. We will definitely be back. Kathleen the property manager is great. She checked in with us to make sure we had all the info. A nice personal touch.

    We were very satisfied with the house. Very clean and all the amenities we needed. The fireplaces were very nice and especially the one in the bedroom. The steps to get to the house were a workout. We liked going down them better than up.
