Lake Lure continues to recover from Hurricane Helene! We’re pleased to share that the Family Lake House (and Rumbling Bald) are once again welcoming guests. Thanks to dedicated contractor and volunteer efforts, access roads and essential services like power, water, and WiFi, are restored. Although the Chimney Rock area, Lake Lure beaches and waterfront are currently closed, there is so much that our beautiful foothills area has to offer. Come enjoy the Family Lake House as a peaceful retreat and “home base” for visiting nearby towns and attractions. Area restaurants, including Lake Lure and Asheville are reopening. There's golf at Rumbling Bald, and area wineries, breweries, music, trails, waterfalls, and so much natural beauty within an hour's drive of Lake Lure. Tryon Equestrian Center is hosting some of the Chimney Rock businesses that suffered from the storm. Saluda, Hendersonville, Forest City, Asheville, and larger cities like Greenville, SC and Charlotte, NC are great day-trip destinations. Welcome to Family Lake House, located inside the Rumbling Bald community at the north end of Lake Lure, in the foothills of western North Carolina. The house is designed to comfortably handle large gatherings of family and friends with 6 bedrooms and 5.5 baths. It is set on beautiful Bald Mountain Lake as your very own playground. This is the private, non-motorized lake inside the Rumbling Bald, and is perfect for swimming, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, fishing, and floats (motorized vehicles are not allowed on this lake).
ENTRY LEVEL: A large open kitchen and adjoining dining area insure you'll have plenty of room to enjoy preparing meals and eating together with seating for 16. Coffee and Wine Bar, two wall ovens, two dishwashers, toaster oven, microwave, and an ice machine. The kitchen and dining area open to a large living room that boasts gorgeous mountain views and a wood burning, stone fireplace for warmth and ambiance in late fall and winter and a 65 " flat screen TV that streams media via Roku and Sonos SoundBar and Sub.
The covered upper deck seats 8 at the table , 55" Roku streaming Smart TV additional Adirondack chairs for viewing the lake or TV.

UPPER LEVEL: Our bunk room is perfect for cousin sleepovers and has a 60" TV which streams Roku and connected to a blu ray player for movie watching. 2 bunk beds with Queen on the lower and twin above.
Separate queen Bedroom with Full Jack and Jill bathroom connected to the Bunk Room. Additional Queen Bed with ensuite Full Bathroom
LOWER LEVEL: Kitchenette with second full size fridge and coffee bar. TV and movie watching is enhanced in the media room with a Sonos SoundBar and Sub and in the media room with a 5.2.2 Dolby Atmos surround system and is connected to a blu ray player, 65" UDH TV

King Bedroom ,ensuite full Bathroom and access to the porch.

    Well appointed in every area. Accommodations were appropriate for 10 adults; and the setting was quiet and relaxing. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking which is essential for our brother, a gourmet chef. PS: A few more cushions for the living room couch would be great.

    We gathered here at Lake Lure to celebrate our 55 Wedding Anniversary. This house was beautiful and perfect for our family of 13. The location was great! Hiking, swimming, golf and pickleball.. Bald Lake is peaceful and fun for everyone. The Lilly Pad was a big hit especially with the grandkids.
    The property was well maintained.
    Unfortunately we waited 1 & 1/2 hours to enter the property since the previous renters didn’t leave on time.

    I would suggest that more chairs be placed at the lake deck. There was only 1 to sit in. 51 steps from the lower level of the house.

    We did have some glitches I think due to transition to new owners. We also had a water issue due to a line break a few doors away. No fault of the owners or management but We had to make a trip to the store to get a water supply. After this the manager did step in to get water for us. We were on boiled water for 3 days.

    Even though this was a great inconvenience I do not hesitate to recommend this home. We couldn’t have asked for a better accommodations for our family..

    My family and friends decided to meet up and enjoy a long weekend at this lovely lakeside property.

    The property description was accurate regarding the location, layout, and amenities.

    It was very clean and well-maintained.

    The property manager provided excellent customer service.

    While in the area we rented a golf cart at the center at the bottom of the hill for easy getting around the gated community. We enjoyed trips to see Chimney Rock nearby, and took a day-trip into Asheville to explore some local breweries and restaurants.

    All-in-all, it was a great stay and I'd highly recommend this spot.
