BLISS BY THE LAKE

The new Updated "Bliss by the Lake" This unique 2 level-4 bedroom-3 bath, round house is spacious and convenient with plenty of room for the whole family. Situated where Buffalo Creek meets Bald Mountain Lake, Bliss offers a calm peaceful location surrounded by beautiful mountain views.
MAIN LEVEL: is a spacious open floor plan with living room, a flat screen TV, dining room and kitchen. A wonderful stone wood burning fireplace offers cozy comfort, (Available Oct. 1-April 1.) The kitchen is well stocked. The dining table seats 6 people, 4 additional may be seated at a card table is located in storage closet in lower level) The screened in porch runs the full length of the kitchen and dining room and is a perfect location for relaxing, viewing the lake, taking in the mountain views or listening to and viewing the waterfalls coming off of Buffalo Creek. The deck off of the living area is a perfect spot for summer cook outs! There is a gas grill (we provide the propane), as well as an outdoor patio table and umbrella for shade. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level: Main Bedroom-King, and private bath with double sinks and separated tiled shower and toilet. Guest Bedroom-1 on this level has a twin with a twin trundle and TV. A full bath with tub/shower combo is located in the hall opposite the guest bedroom.
LOWER LEVEL: A game room complete with a pool table, mini stainless-steel fridge, TV (complete with Sonos sound bar), comfortable seating and bar area. The laundry area is also accessed from this room. There are 2 additional bedrooms: Guest Bedroom-2-King. Guest Bedroom-3- Queen. A large full bathroom with tub/shower combo. The den features a pull out queen pull-out sleeper sofa, gaming table for playing cards or checkers, a TV with DVD, a karaoke machine, and a championship style dart board.
ENJOY THE OUTSIDE AREA OF BLISS: The large yard is perfect for lawn games. You will also find 1 fire pit (wood can be purchased locally), surrounded by 6 Adirondack chairs (extra outdoor chairs available). There are 35 stone stairs in the yard that lead to the lake. At the lake you will find 1 canoe, a 5-seater pedal boat with canopy, and a floating dock, called 'Doc Holiday'. “Doc” can be detached and used as a swim platform or paddle it to the deeper waters of Bald Mountain Lake. Also provided are life vests, paddles, floats, kid beach toys and much more.

Lake Lure will be drawn down by 12 feet. The purpose of the Lake drawdown is to allow for the completion of priority infrastructure projects including the sewer system replacement project including the Gravity Lift System (GLS) in the North end of Sunset Cove, dredging, seawall and boathouse construction/maintenance, dam and hydroelectric plant maintenance, and sewer cleaning and maintenance.
While the Lake will begin rising on March 31st, 2024, the rate of refilling the Lake is based on the weather and the amount of rainfall received. MINIMUM.*Check-in 4 PM, Check-out 10 AM*YOU MUST BE 25 YEARS OLD TO BOOK.*NO SMOKING. *SANITIZED LINENS ARE PROVIDED

  This property is beautiful, clean, and very well-maintained. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed. The deck was great, and my sister and I spent most of our time there. The property manager, Kathleen, quickly responded to our concern about a rotting board on the dock. It was fixed right away. The only negative was the steps down to the lake. They were made of stone, very uneven, and not kid—or senior-friendly. Unfortunately, I am sad to say that we probably won't be back for that fact alone. However, my son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter loved the dock. Highly recommend this property for younger adults.

  We spent a week in this home for a family reunion trip, and we were shocked by the space in the best way possible. You can really tell the owners of this property want you to have a wonderful time during your stay. It is a luxury experience that is more comfortable and homey than you can believe. The home’s layout really maximizes the space and makes great sense. Not only is it a beautiful house in a great location, but there are so many amenities included in the stay, beyond what you can probably even imagine. The Rumbling Bald passes were such a nice touch. There were so many pots, pans, and even ingredients available for use in the kitchen. We were continuously impressed by the things at our disposal. The closet in the basement has so many fun things to do. This house truly has it all! Our family certainly made use of the dock, paddle boat, rafts and canoe while fishing! We so appreciated being able to spend the week in this space.

  We had such a great time at the house, it's a beautiful home and extremely well maintained. We especially enjoyed sitting in the screened patio and watching the lake. Given the weather we couldn't use the firepit, but did use the indoor fire place; one suggestion is to bring your wood that may be drier (from the store), the wet wood will give off a lot of smoke.
  
  Bathrooms were very clean, basement looked brand new, Kitchen was very well stocked as well.

  We stayed at Bliss by the Lake in August for a week-long family vacation and had a wonderful experience. The home was well-appointed with everything we could need for our young children (think pack n play, life vests, toys, games) all the way through adults.
  
  The home was very clean and well stocked. We cooked most meals and never had an issue finding a cooking tool or utensil. Additionally, the beds were extremely comfortable, and linens were high-quality. After long-days enjoying the lake, having a great place to sleep is much-appreciated.
  
  
  The screened in porch was used from early morning, through afternoon storms, and well-into the evening as the temperatures cooled. Access to the amenities in Rumbling Bald were a favorite and the location allowed for easy trips up and down to the resort. We loved having a dock on bald mountain lake right out back as well as access to the full beach on Lake Lure at the resort.
  
  We loved our stay and will look to return in the future.

  We had a great time at "Bliss by the Lake!" The house was incredibly clean and honestly looks like it was just renovated. The beds were all comfortable (except the pull out sofa, don't recommend) and the screened in porch was perfect for relaxing and looking for roaming bears. There was plenty of kitchen stuff and we cooked/grilled a lot. We had a couple issues early on, but they were resolved immediately by the awesome property manager, Kathleen! The internet was super fast if you wired in (we had multiple people working/taking calls during the week) and otherwise average if you were using wifi. There is basically zero cell service at the house and nearby. As a heads up, there were towels but otherwise no bathroom essentials (e.g., shampoo, conditioner, body soap). The location is great for its privacy, but the mountain roads are quite windy and very dark at night. We highly recommend both the Lake Adventure Boating Company & Canopy Ridge Ziplining (both fairly close to the house). Having the Rumbling Bald resort just down the road was really nice as well. We utilized their gym, kayaked on the lake, and tried out the lazy river. In our opinion, it was not really walkable (hills, lack of sidewalks), but it was a short drive (<5 min).

The only recommendation I would make is to bring dry firewood with you. There were many options for entertaining ourselves regardless of the age you are.   We had a great time staying on Lake Lure! The resort area is wonderful! Beautiful beach surrounded by mountains with plenty of activities. The house is nice and spacious. It could use some general updating though. Most of the kitchen appliances need updating. It is also a very small kitchen to work in. Very little counter space.Furniture is getting worn out. There was some broken furniture on the porch and the dock. I feel the property management company could pay closer attention to this property . I also feel the cleaning company could do a much better job overall inside and out!Other than that we had a very nice time!

  We really enjoyed our stay at Bliss By the Lake. We all enjoyed the canoes and kayak. The pictures of the house did not do it justice. It was better than what we expected. For new comers I would suggest taking the Lake Lure tour on the pontoon boat. The only negative we had was the driveway. We had a front wheel drive and had to back out of the driveway up the hill. Driving forward up the rock driveway would result in just spinning the tires.

  We had a fantastic family vacation in Bliss by the Lake August 2017. It was my husband and I, my 86-year old mother, my sister, my two sons (12 and 14), a friend (13), and my niece (16). The kids had fun every day paddling Doc Holiday out into the lake and playing 'king of the hill'. We also kayaked and canoed every day. It was peaceful, quiet, and yet there was lots to do. We went to Sliding Rock one day and Chimney Rock one day. Also visited the resort pool (small pool). The house was clean and as advertised. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

  The house worked out fine with the seven of us. We bought groceries at Ingles and ate our meals in kitchen--except for an excellent outing to Larkins by the Lake and to Legends. Well equipped, comfortable beds, deluxe bathrooms, plenty of room inside and out for lounging around. We used a canoe to explore the lake. Our only complaint is the steep, rough and bumpy driveway.

  We had a great stay at Bliss by the Lake. We enjoyed taking the canoes out on the lake, making a fire in the fire pit, and playing putt putt at the resort. The house was very roomy even if it did not look like it from the outside. We had only two complaints. There were a ton of lizards on the outside wall and several got into the house through the chimney. That caused some panic in the house, luckily we had brave people to get them out. Also, we were required to wash and dry the towels before leavings . Since we left early the next day, we had to stay up to do this, and could not shower the day we left. . Our suggestion would be to just start the towels in the washer and the cleaning people can put it in the dryer since we have to pay for a cleaning fee. Other than that we had a great family vacation and really enjoyed our stay.

  This is our second trip to Bliss and of course if we didn't enjoy the first time we wouldn't have returned. Had 12 people there and we all had a great time, went fishing, boating, made use of fire pit and even had time for a day trip to Chimney Rock state park. We already talking about a return trip again next year. Thanks to buffalo junction properties and Tracy and Sue making checking in/out very easy. I would thourghly recemmend to any size family for a peaceful get away.

  Great resort. House is nothing special esp. for the cost. Small tv in the family room which did not always work. Kitchen pans are poor as was the lack of counter space. Can see very little of the water from the house and the steps leading to the water are very hard for younger kids to walk. Furniture must have come from a poor garage sale. The owners tried to provide some toys which we did appreciate. We rent at least five VRBO houses a year and this was our first bad review.

  Bliss by the lake was well suited for our 4 family group, three generation gathering. There was plenty of space and a myriad of toys to appeal to all.The house was comfortable and well stocked. If you like peace and quiet this place is for you. We would have liked a trail connection to the resort amenities as no one felt comfortable walking on the roads btwn the house and the resort. Also if you like to dine out, be prepared to drive. The resort pub was good, but we don't like eating at the same place.
  
  We enjoyed our trip and bliss, but next time we will stay closer to Asheville's offerings.

  Our family of 8 fit perfectly in this house. We had plenty of room to spread out and the kids took over the downstairs. Being able to wake up and sit on the deck to have our coffee while overlooking the lake was perfect. The house was very clean and well maintained. Being able to go to the pool every day was wonderful for the kids. I would recommended this house to any family that wants to get away from the hustle and bustle. We went to Ashville 2 times which was fun. About an hour drive but worth it. The kitchen could use more counter space but we all fit at the table to eat. Maybe an updated coffee maker would be nice. Overall a relaxing vacation at Bliss by the Lake.

  There were 9 of ou (friends and family) stayed in the cabin w/o it being feeling over crowed. We had also planned off site activities but the next time we rent this cabin we plan to spend all of our time at bliss by the lake there's so much to do and it's soooooo relaxing. We took advantage of the lake by canoeing some and the fire pit out back. We didn't touch the surface on all of the activities but plan too next year.   Even with dreary weather our group of 4 adults and 5 tweens had a great mountain getaway. There was plenty of room to spread out, and canoes were used despite the rain. We brought our own games but Bliss also has several. Kitchen was not huge but was adequate (never found a toaster!) and the fireplace in the living room really added ambiance. The property is located up and down and around a windy road, so if arriving after dark have the manager's number in case you need directions (I did). Would definitely rent Bliss again.

  It was with much effort and anticipation that our whole family, from 5 different states, ( Gramma, Grampa, 5 adult children and 4 grandkids) got together at Bliss. We were not disappointed. the floor plan is so nice with lots of places to spread out. We spent a lot of time on the front porch, looking at the view of lake and mts. Whole family walked up the creek and found crawdads. Canoeing and fishing was great. Had a meal of fried bass. House was clean, furnished with everything. Kitchen has big pantry that we truly needed for all our food. We loved the resort... swam in pools, lake, boated, played putt-putt. Just a wonderful time definitely.

  Our rental experience was excellent. It was cold and we were there only to sleep, so I cannot vouch for the fun to be had there in warmer weather. I am sure it is terrific. The house was comfortable. The art in it is spectacular. The owner should change out the mattress cover. The plastic one is really annoying at night.
